Create the Online Presence of a Celebrity

Have you ever wondered how your favorite musician or celebrity got so many followers on social media? Of course some of it comes from their status, but chances are their PR or social media team got them there with their social media strategy. Ceci Dadisman, of Cardinal & Company spoke about some of the best social media practices for business and here are some tips that you can use to build your own social media following!

1. Know who your target audience is.

One thing Ceci suggested was creating a "persona" of who your ideal target is, thinking about specific attributes of that person. Knowing your target audience includes thinking about how they use social media and the types of messages they will respond best to--something with visual appeal, a humorous tone, etc.

2. Know your platform.

This goes hand in hand with knowing your target audience and deciding what they would respond best to. For instance, Instagram typically has a younger audience and is more female dominated. Facebook has one of the fastest adoption rates and the most engaged users across social media platforms. Do your research and know what your target audience is using the most!

3. Engage your users!

This can be done through many ways; one of which that is growing in popularity is user generated content. This involves allowing your users to create or submit content to be posted on your page, allowing them to interact with you. Ceci also talked about including pictures in posts to encourage shares; 87% of the most shared posts on Facebook worldwide contain photos.

Overall, Ceci's advice was to create visually appealing, relevant content to your target audience, and to provide a clear call to action of how you want your users to interact with you. Follow these tips and you'll be on your way to growing your own social media following!
