Search Engine Optimization
You're probably thinking what's Search Enginge Optimization (SEO) and why should I care? And that's exactly what I thought until Dr. Thomas Mueller of Appalachian State gave a presentation on the value of SEO on Wednesday.
Search Enginge Optimization means maximizing the number of visitors your site receives by taking steps to make sure it appears at the top of search engine results. These steps can include posting on multiple platforms, sharing often, and engaging other users.
Dr. Mueller presented several tips on ways to optimize your website and posts. These include:
- Posting across several platforms including your blog or website itself, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even LinkedIn blogs
- Posting the link several times, at multiple times of the day and on different days to reach different audiences
- Engaging with other users by reposting or sharing their content
- Repurposing your own content and using work you have already created for classes or projects as blog posts
All of these are excellent tips to make sure that your blog or website posts are at the top of search engine results and reach the maximum audience!
